In June 2002, several teams from Atlanta will arrive in Honduras a desperately poor country with millions living in poverty- to provide construction, medical, and educational services. The medical team will explore the possibilities of linking the main hospitals in Honduras with specialists in the United States. Numerous political, technical, and economic issues will need to be addressed. However, this initiative could mark the beginning of new opportunities for industrialized and developing countries to form partnerships. Follow the progress of the teams as they depart June 15, 2002 at www.napc.org/honduras Waging the War on HIC/AIDS in Africa. World organizations and governments are working together to assess and treat the growing healthcare needs of remote villages and cities in Nigeria. An increasing number of HIV/AIDS cases are suspected, but firm statistics are not yet known. This initiative partners with Atlanta based organizations Global Initiative for AIDS Nutritional Therapy (GIANT) and Endurance and Love Organization. |
